CANVAS Mentor Match

Fall 2025 Mentorship: Connect at CANVAS

Fall mentorship is society-wide and focused on helping people connect in-person at CANVAS in Salt Lake City, UT.

If you’re not attending CANVAS, keep an eye out for a virtual mentorship opportunity in early 2026!

Apply for the In-Person Mentorship Program at CANVAS

Become a Mentor in three simple steps!

If you haven’t already, make sure your Member Hub profile is complete.

Update your contact information, add a recent professional profile picture, expand your bio and import your education and job history information from LinkedIn. You can also double-check that your privacy settings are set the way you would like them.

Your profile is how other users will decide whether or not to connect to you — spending a little time on this step will be a huge help during the matching process.

Use the form below to enroll as a mentor.

Enroll as a Mentor

The form will request information about you that will help a mentee decide whether or not to request you as a mentor.

Demographics include: topics, specialties, career stage and start/end date. Please note that some fields are required for enrollment. The more information you provide, the easier it will be for mentees to find you and request a match.

Please set the number of mentees you are willing to accept at the bottom of this form. We recommend accepting no more than three mentees — the default limit is set at two.

Once your Member Hub and mentor profiles are complete, you’ll wait to get mentorship requests from mentees.

Please note that mentees will be invited to join the program in October, so keep an eye on your inbox for a few weeks before CANVAS.

Requests will appear in both your email and your Member Hub inbox.

When you receive a request, you’ll be able to review the mentee and accept (or reject) the match.

After you get a match, reach out to your mentee to set a time and place to meet at CANVAS in Salt Lake City!

Now that your Member Hub Profile is complete, it’s time to Enroll as a Mentee

Complete the mentee profile to enroll.

Demographics include: topics, specialties, career stage and start/end date. Please note that some fields are required for enrollment. The more information you provide, the easier it will be to make the best match.

*You must enroll in the program using these forms to select a mentor or accept a mentee request.

Use the Mentor Program Directory to input your search criteria.

Note that selecting “Search for ALL of the selected values” will only return mentors that exactly fit your criteria. Use “Search for ANY of the selected values” to see a higher number of mentors; resulting mentors will match at least one of the values you chose.

Consider how your choices from the search categories will influence the type of mentor you may be partnered with. We highly recommend looking through a mentor’s bio and their Member Hub profile before requesting a match.

Once you’ve found a mentor that you’d like to connect with (we recommend exploring a few options before choosing), click their name.

The link will bring you to their profile page. Look for the “Mentor Match” badge and click to request a connection.

Your requested mentor will receive a notification and reach out to you if they accept the match.
