Welcome to the Fall 2026 CANVAS Mentor Match program!

About the program

The Fall CANVAS Mentor Match is designed for ASA, CSSA, SSSA members who plan to attend CANVAS in-person. The initial matches will be made through this online platform, and then folks who get matched will be encouraged to meet their mentor or mentee in Portland!

Not attending CANVAS? Watch for the Spring 2027 Virtual Mentor Match program, which will open enrollment early next year.

This program creates meaningful, structured opportunities for members to connect, share experiences, and support each other's professional growth. Participants complete a profile in the Member Hub and are matched based on interests, expertise, and career goals.

Become a Mentor in three simple steps!

If you haven’t already, make sure your Member Hub profile is complete.

Update your contact information, add a recent professional profile picture, and expand your bio by importing your education and job history from LinkedIn. You can also double-check that your privacy settings are set the way you would like them.

Your profile is how other users will decide whether or not to connect to you — spending a little time on this step will be a huge help during the matching process.

Use the form below to enroll as a mentor.

Enroll as a Mentor

The form will request information about you that will help a mentee decide whether or not to request you as a mentor. This includes topics, specialties, career stage, and availability. Please note that some fields are required for enrollment — the more information you provide, the easier it will be for mentees to find you and request a match.

You can accept up to three mentees. We recommend starting with one or two, especially if this is your first time participating.

Once your Member Hub and mentor profiles are complete, watch for mentee requests in your email inbox and through the Member Hub.

When you receive a request, you'll be able to review the mentee's profile and accept or decline the match. Please respond within one week — requests that are not responded to within seven days will be automatically cancelled so the mentee can reach out to another mentor.

After you're matched, reach out to your mentee to start the conversation!

Now that your Member Hub Profile is complete, it’s time to Enroll as a Mentee

Complete the mentee profile to enroll. This includes topics, specialties, career stage, and availability. Please note that some fields are required for enrollment. The more information you provide, the easier it will be to make the best match.

You must enroll in the program using these forms to select a mentor or accept a mentee request.

Use the Mentor Program Directory to input your search criteria.

To see the most results, try searching for just 1–2 criteria at a time. We highly recommend reviewing a mentor's bio and their full Member Hub profile before sending a request. Once you've identified a mentor you'd like to connect with, send them a match request directly through the platform.

Note: each program has a defined window for sending mentor requests. Check the program page for current deadlines.

Once you've found a mentor you'd like to work with, click their name in the directory to visit their profile page. Look for the "Mentor Match" badge and click to request a connection.

Your mentor will receive a notification and has one week to accept or decline. Once they accept, you'll receive a confirmation and can reach out to start the conversation!
